

📢 Trump Announces Ceasefire Between Pakistan and India
US President Donald Trump announced that Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate and complete ceasefire following US-led diplomatic efforts. The statement was released on the social media platform X.
“The United States mediated throughout the night,” Trump wrote, “and I am happy to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a complete and immediate ceasefire.”
He congratulated both countries for their “intelligence and wisdom” and thanked them for their cooperation.
🕊️ US Diplomacy at Work
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio added more details, confirming that over the last 48 hours, he and the US Vice President spoke with top leaders from both countries:
- PM Narendra Modi
- PM Shahbaz Sharif
- Foreign Ministers Jaishankar and Ishaq Dar
- National Security Advisors Ajit Doval and Asim Malik
- Army Chief General Asim Munir
Rubio stated that both countries have begun discussions on broader regional issues at a neutral location.
🇵🇰 Pakistan Confirms Ceasefire
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the agreement on X, stating:
“Pakistan and India have agreed to an immediate ceasefire. Pakistan continues to pursue peace without compromising sovereignty.”
🇮🇳 India Also Confirms
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also confirmed the ceasefire, saying:
“Pakistan’s DGMO contacted our DGMO at 3:35 PM. Both sides agreed to halt all military operations — air, land, and sea.”
The ceasefire is set to begin at 5:00 PM today, with another meeting between DGMOs scheduled for May 12.
⚔️ Ceasefire Follows Heavy Strikes by Pakistan
Earlier in the day, Pakistan launched Operation Banyan Marsus in response to Indian aggression. Key Indian military sites were hit, including:
- Udhampur, Pathankot, and Adampur airbases
- BrahMos missile storage site in Beas
- S-400 missile defense system
- Indian intelligence training centers in Rajouri and Nowshera
Security sources revealed that these targets were linked to prior attacks on civilians and religious sites in Pakistan.
