⛓️ Sentences Handed Down by Accountability Court
Earlier, an accountability court had sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years and Bushra Bibi to 7 years in prison in connection with the case.
📂 Case Background: Al-Qadir Trust and Bahria Town Deal
The £190 million case, also known as the Al-Qadir Trust case, involves serious allegations of corruption and misuse of authority.
Key Allegations:
- Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are accused of accepting billions of rupees and hundreds of kanals of land from Bahria Town Limited.
- This was allegedly done in return for facilitating the adjustment of £190 million returned to Pakistan by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA).
- Instead of depositing this amount into the national treasury, it was reportedly used to settle Bahria Town Karachi’s Rs450 billion liabilities.
Cabinet Misled?
Imran Khan is also accused of misleading his cabinet by concealing the details of the settlement agreement reached between the Pakistani government and Bahria Town.
