🛑 NSC Condemns India’s Unprovoked Attacks
The National Security Committee (NSC), chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has strongly condemned India’s unprovoked and illegal aggression against Pakistan. The NSC authorized the Pakistan Armed Forces to take all necessary retaliatory actions.
In a detailed emergency meeting, the NSC discussed the security situation following India’s coordinated air, missile, and drone strikes on Pakistani cities during the night of May 6–7, 2025.
💥 Cities Targeted in the Attacks
The Indian military strikes hit:
- Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, Bahawalpur (Punjab)
- Kotli and Muzaffarabad (Azad Jammu & Kashmir)
These attacks were conducted under the false pretext of targeting “terrorist camps,” according to the NSC. The strikes resulted in civilian casualties, including women and children, and damaged critical infrastructure, including mosques and the Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project.
🕊️ NSC Appeals to the International Community
The committee appealed to the international community to take notice of India’s actions, calling them violations of international law and categorizing them as war crimes. It emphasized that the attacks endangered commercial flights, particularly those of Gulf countries, and posed a risk to thousands of civilians.
The NSC reiterated that Pakistan had previously offered a transparent investigation after the April 22 Pahalgam incident, which India rejected.
✊ Pakistan’s Right to Retaliate
Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Pakistan reserves the right to self-defense. The armed forces have been given full authority to respond at a time and place of Pakistan’s choosing. In immediate defense, Pakistan shot down five Indian fighter jets and drones.
🕯️ Tribute to the Victims
The NSC offered Fateha for the martyrs of the attacks and extended condolences to the families of victims. The government reaffirmed its commitment to defend national sovereignty and uphold regional peace with dignity.
🇵🇰 National Unity and Resolve
Despite grief, the meeting concluded that the Pakistani nation stands united and fully supports its armed forces. The NSC affirmed:
“Pakistan desires peace — but not at the cost of its sovereignty and national honor.”
