🇺🇸 US Briefed on Rising Border Tensions
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker for the second time in two days. The two discussed the growing Pakistan-India tension, particularly the situation at the border.
According to Dawn News, the minister provided a detailed briefing on the recent Indian drone incursions, describing them as acts of terrorism that violate international law.
🎯 India Blamed for Escalation
Naqvi stated that India deliberately targeted civilian populations using drones. He emphasized that Pakistan acted effectively, shooting down dozens of Indian drones that entered its territory.
“India is fully responsible for the dangerous regional situation,” Naqvi told the US envoy. “The region is on the brink of war.”
🛡️ Security Will Not Be Compromised
The interior minister made it clear that Pakistan’s security is non-negotiable. He said the country would continue to defend its sovereignty and protect its people from aggression.
👥 Diplomatic Engagement Continues
Naqvi and Baker had met just a day earlier, following India’s attack on Pakistani urban areas on the night between May 6 and 7.
According to state-run television, US Political Counselor Zack Harken-Rider and Pakistan’s Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry were also present at the meeting.
The talks focused on regional stability and diplomatic responses following India’s cross-border aggression.
