🇺🇸 US Leads Mediation Efforts to De-escalate India-Pakistan Conflict
Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that international efforts, led by the United States, are underway to reduce rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
In an interview with Reuters, he stated that although mediation is in progress, the situation is becoming increasingly difficult to control.
🚨 Pakistan to Target Indian Military Installations
Asif emphasized that Pakistan will target Indian military sites in direct retaliation for recent aggression. He added that India’s drone incursions into Pakistani airspace have pushed the situation to a critical stage.
“There is barely any room left to reduce tensions,” the minister said. “This fight is entering a dead end.”
💥 Recent Escalation: Attacks and Retaliation
Tensions escalated after the Pahalgam incident on April 22, 2025, in which tourists were killed. In response, India launched an attack on Pakistani urban areas between the night of May 6 and 7.
Pakistan’s military responded forcefully by:
- Shooting down 5 Indian warplanes, including 3 Rafale jets
- Destroying multiple Indian military check posts, including a brigade headquarters
- Forcing an Indian retreat at the Chura complex on the Line of Control (LoC)
🛰️ Drone Intrusions and Further Tensions
Even today, Pakistani forces shot down 26 Indian drones that violated airspace in various regions. The incursions are seen as another act of provocation.
🛡️ Pakistan’s Stance: Prepared for a Strong Response
Pakistan’s National Security Committee has granted the armed forces full authority to retaliate as necessary.
The government has declared that any aggression from India will be met with a decisive and fitting response.
