Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel al-Jubeir also welcomed the ceasefire.
According to a post by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, the two leaders held a phone conversation in which Saudi Arabia praised Pakistan’s diplomacy and restraint.
🇩🇪 Germany Applauds Step Toward De-escalation
Germany joined other nations in welcoming the announcement.
The German Foreign Office, via Dawn News, said the ceasefire is a critical first step toward easing regional tensions between Pakistan and India.
🇺🇳 UN Sees Ceasefire as a Path to Lasting Peace
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called the ceasefire a “positive step.”
His spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric told AFP that the Secretary-General hopes the agreement will create a peaceful atmosphere for resolving long-standing issues between the two countries.
